Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility
– At least 18 years old
– Legally allowed to work in Canada (for workers)
– Authorized to act on behalf of a business (for clients)
2. Account Registration
You must create an account and keep your login secure. You’re responsible for all activity on your account.
3. Nature of the Relationship
All workers using JobGenie are independent contractors, not employees. They must:
- Handle their own taxes and legal obligations
- Carry personal liability and injury insurance
- Understand JobGenie does not provide WSIB or workers’ compensation coverage
4. Risk and Liability
Workers assume all risks and are responsible for injuries or damages during work. JobGenie is not liable for accidents, unsafe conditions, or harm sustained while working.
5. Service Overview
JobGenie connects businesses with independent labor contractors through jobs listed on our platform.
– Clients (employers) set the pay rate they are willing to offer for each job.
– JobGenie facilitates job postings, manages worker profiles, and handles payment processing.
– JobGenie does not supervise or control how the work is performed.
– JobGenie does not employ any workers listed on the platform.
– Workers are paid after completing jobs and once payment is received from the client. JobGenie retains a service fee
(e.g., 30%) from the total payment.
All work arrangements are made between the client and the contractor. JobGenie serves as an intermediary to support
that connection.
6. User Responsibilities
Workers:
- Must be insured
- Keep profile accurate
- Be reliable and perform a safety check
Clients:
- Provide safe workplaces
- Comply with laws
- Pay fairly and on time
7. Payments and Fees
JobGenie takes a 30% fee from completed jobs. Fees are subject to change.
8. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Use JobGenie for illegal purposes
- Impersonate others
- Circumvent the platform for payments
- Post harmful content
9. Termination
JobGenie may terminate your account for violations. You may delete your account at any time.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on JobGenie is owned by 16744443 Canada Inc. and cannot be copied without permission.
11. Limitation of Liability
JobGenie is not liable for:
- Injuries
- Disputes between users
- Loss of income
- Downtime or errors
12. Disclaimer
The Service is provided ‘as is’ with no guarantees about job availability or outcomes.
13. Changes to Terms
Terms may change and will be updated on the site. Continued use means you accept the changes.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Ontario and Canadian law.
